COACHELLA 2009

A necessary evil, networking is defined as "the act of meeting new people in a business or social context."

A couple months back Peggy, Jon, and myself headed to a swanky Coachella Anthem pool party with that in mind.

After all, it's always good to meet new people, make a few more friends, right? Unfortunately, we failed to take into account our feeble networking skills.

When we got into the party, we staked out our territory in the grassy lawn, under white canvas.

Jon & Pegs looking extremely excited.

While I guarded our new land from any invaders, Jon and Peggy took off toward the free swag and drinks.

We regrouped.. and then.. sat there. Peggy made a half-hearted attempt at networking, got some dj's card, and promptly went to hide out in a private employee's alcove.

Jon and I amused ourselves with stealth water gun attacks on innocent bystanders. Unfortunately, while refilling the guns with water, Jon got pushed into the pool by someone's foot in the small of his back.

He ended up disappearing as well, leaving me to hold down our steadily decreasing territory. I passed the time by seeing how many free drinks I could pour down my throat and declining kind offers from drug dealers.

We regrouped at some point during the day and stayed camped out in the hidden alcove. On the plus side, we made friends with the people working the party.. and that was pretty much the extent of our Coachella experience.
